Reunion With Fuku

「Still, Arc doesn’t look happy when you’re looking for your familiar, huh」

「Really?」

「Un.  If it were the usual Arc, you would rush out to try and tame every time you see a fluffy creature but today you don’t seem to feel like that, or rather, you don’t look interested?」

Since finding the Horn Rabbit, we have come across various animals and monsters such as Green Deer, Armored Boar, Fennet1, White Wolf, Snow Fox, and White Mash2.

Of course, there were wonderful fluffy creatures among them, but I didn’t think of Taming them at all.

Certainly, if it were the usual me, I would try to Tame everything we found just as Chloe had said.

However, the reason I didn’t do so is probably because I feel some kind of hesitation or worry within myself.

If I’m going to be a splendid Tamer of the Kontract house the fastest way would probably be to Tame as many creatures as I can, but still, I think Fuku should be my first Tamed creature.

When I thanked her for that, Chloe scratched her cheek in embarrassment.

I will have to continue waiting if I want Fuku to be my first Tamed creature.

The Big Ape glares at us and lets out a roar as if to intimidate us.

It’s very jarring and feels like my internal organs are being shaken.

This is the first time I see a monster that is not familiar.

Compared to Setsu or Bell, there is no rationality in its eyes and I could see its intent to harm us.

I was living in a place surrounded by familiars so I was skeptical of the fact that monsters are harming people, but if there are monsters like this one then I think monsters would cause a lot of harm.

「Arc, do you think you can tame this guy?」

「I can’t」

Ziruol smiled in amusement when I answered so.

「Right. I suppose you will need a considerable affinity and skill to Tame this one」

Conversely, I didn’t think there were people who could Tame a violent monster like this.

Tamers are really amazing.

「I don’t want to kill any creature while looking for familiars for Arc」

「That’s right. Shall make it return to its territory peacefully then?」

……how nice. Everyone has familiars and they know how to fight properly.

If only Fuku is also here I would also be able to fight with everyone.

The moment Ziruol kicked off the ground and was about to dash forward, a ray of light shone right in front of us.

It is muscular despite its small build and a little curled-up tail on its rear.

There’s no mistake. That’s Fuku.

Realizing that, I started running at full speed toward Fuku.

「Wait! Arc! Don’t approach it carelessly!」

「It’s fluffs so it’s fine!」

「No, that’s not fine at all! What do you mean it’s fine!」

Ignoring Ziruol’s frantic pleas to stop me, I rush over toward Fuku.

「………… Fuku, do you recognize me?」

「Wan!」

Before my reincarnation, I was just an unattractive man with black hair but ever since I reincarnated to Arc Kontract, I turned into a boy with silver hair and blue eyes and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to describe my appearance as a pretty boy.

I was wondering if Fuku might not recognize me anymore because my appearance has changed so much.

Although I had such worries, Fuku seemed to recognize me.

Fuku started to playfully snuggle up to me and licked my face as if expressing the joy of our reunion.

「This is the magic circle for a Permanent Contract. I will teach you how to draw it in detail next time」

「I will tell you the chant for the magic while Arc pours your mana into the magic circle while saying the chant out loud」

A magic circle emerges underneath Fuku’s feet and Fuku bark to show his agreement.

Immediately after that, I discovered a mana-path-like thing formed between my palm and Fuku.

However, the connecting path between me and Fuku is weak.

Seeing that, Ziruol’s eyes widened.

「Arc, pour more mana! Or else you will not be able to form a Contract with this guy!」

This is probably what Inugami told me two and a half years ago.

It looks like a superficial mana is not enough to Tame Fuku.

But, I knew of that fact. I had been working hard all these years to prevent failure from happening.

「O, okay! Let’s go, Fuku!」

「Wan!」

After Fuku’s bark, I stimulate the mana inside my body all at once and pour it into the magic circle.

Then, the feeling of something that was about to tear up firmly connected, and a strong path between me and Fuku formed. I instinctively understood that I was able to connect our souls.

「Tame, I did it!」

With this, the Permanent Contract is completed.

This is the first time I have used a Permanent Contract and tried Taming, but I’m glad it went well.

「What is this child’s name?」

Ziruol comes to my side after the Taming is completed.

I have already decided on his name.

「Fuku!」

It’s Fuku, named with the hope that both our lives and the dog’s life will be filled with happiness.

「……………there is a lot I want to say but I will leave it for now, but first congratulations on your first Taming!」

「You did it, Arc」

「Un! Thank you, everyone!」

Thus, I was reunited with Fuku after 3 years and at the same time, Fuku became my familiar.
