Adventurer Activity in Pedrick
「I want to engage in Adventurer activities!」
After we had our breakfast at the dining hall attached to the Pedrick’s inn, that was the first thing Arte said.
「Do you want to take on requests?」
「That’s right ja!」
「Even though we came all the way to Pedrick?」
Why would you take on adventurer’s requests when you came to a tourist attraction spot?
Normally, you would go around and visit famous places or eat foods that can only be found in this sort of place.
「I’ve come to an unfamiliar land after all ja! I want to take on requests that can only be taken here!」
Arte banged the table to assert her point when I asked such a simple question.
I see, certainly, the type of requests will be different in a different place.
There are requests in Pedrick that you can not experience back in the royal capital’s Guild. Certainly, this is part of an experience that can only be had here.

It is the lowest rank of adventurers, a sign of a novice adventurer.

We heard a scream as we finished gathering the Rock Shellfish while having our conversation.

When we turned our gaze toward the source of the commotion, we saw the children who had been gathering materials all crowded together.
Seeing as they weren’t running away at full speed, it seems like it was not a dangerous monster or animal
「Let’s go see what happens for now」

Curious, Arte and I decide to approach them.
Immediately after, we saw a pitch-black and huge sea urchin on the rocky shore. It resembles a sea urchin, but its size is wholly different.
It’s around 2-3 meters in size.
Dark, long spines grow all over its body like it's surrounded bya hard shell.
Dozens of them were tumbling along the waves.
「……what are those?」
「Oi, don’t get closer」
「Why ja?」
A boy and a girl stopped Arte as she was about to carelessly approach it.
「Unil will attack you by extending its spikes if you get closer to it」
「It’s better to leave it to the adult adventurers since it’s dangerous. I’m going to all the adults」
「There’s no need for that! Kureto and I are Adventurers! These monsters are not that big of a deal!」
But, the children’s voices seem to have the opposite effect on Arte as she replied like that.
「You liar. That oniichan behind you aside, you’re just a kid, aren’t you」
「I’m not a kid! I am 16 years old ja! I am already an adult!」
Although she may claim as such, there is really no other way to describe her when he is getting worked up and picks a fight with ten-year-old kids.

After saying that, Arte held out her right hand without approaching the Unil any closer.
Then, Arte’s body shines with magical light and a magic circle appears.

With Arte’s clear voice, wind suddenly rages, and a small tornado attacks the Unil.
The violent whirlwind smashed the Unil’s spines and tore its insides to shreds.
That’s such a dreadful power of magic. Honestly, I didn’t think Arte was someone who could use such high-level magic.

Arte threw out her chest as if to show off, but the boy and girl screamed instead.
「Wha, what’s the matter! Why would you scream even though I defeat it….」
「Unil is a high-end delicacy! If you’re going to defeat them, you should do it while causing as little damage to their inside as possible!」
Looking at the remains of the Unil, there was soft, orange colored flesh flying off.
They are probably the same as the sea urchin from my previous world and are delicious.
「You eat those!? Are you crazy!?」

Indeed, Arte has a point. Normally, one wouldn’t think of eating the Unils after seeing their appearance. The person who first eat the ingredient was really impressive.

Its body being cut along with space around it, the Unil’s upper half slid off and fell to the sea. Perhaps there is hardly any flesh in the upper half, as a pretty orange flesh is exposed.

「Ooh, amazing oniichan! There is not a scratch on the Unil!」
Arte and the children are astonished at my magic.
Apparently, there doesn’t seem to be any problem with this method so I continue defeat the other Unils as well.
The sharp and pointed spines are harmless and useless unless you get close, and are just nothing more than a target since they are not moving.
Not only do I cut them in half and expose their inner flesh, but I’m also trying to cut their spines cleanly.
「Unununu! This is supposed to be my chance to show off......!」
「There should be no problem if you can cut them a little above the middle or just cut their spines. Arte can also try it」
